Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT, pronounced like the word act), is an offshoot of CBT. We focus on making room for the discomfort of things that we cannot change, while actively engaging in doing things that matter most to you. As we stop fighting with difficult thoughts and feelings that we can't make go away, we are freed to spend our time in making helpful and positive changes towards things that bring us closer to what we want in life. ACT is a transdiagnostic approach, meaning it can be used with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and other difficulties you are experiencing.
Exposure and response prevention (ERP) is a type of therapy used primarily for OCD treatment. As you identify what truly matters to you, you become more willing to face your fears and stop the compulsions that rule your life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma treatment that helps you to face the past hurts and difficulties that prevent you from living the life you want now. We help stabilize you in the present so you can look to the past to be able to move forward into the future.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapy model that views the mind as having different “parts” or sub-personalities. It helps people understand and harmonize these parts by connecting with their core “Self,” a compassionate inner presence, to promote healing and balance.
