Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by persistent, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) performed to alleviate anxiety. These compulsions, though temporarily relieving distress, often reinforce the cycle of OCD, making it difficult to break free.
At Vital Life Counseling, we take a compassionate and evidence-based approach to treating OCD. We utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), specifically Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help clients gradually face their fears and reduce reliance on compulsive behaviors. Additionally, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is used to help individuals accept their thoughts without judgment, while focusing on living a life aligned with their values. Our goal is to help clients develop healthier coping strategies, increase emotional resilience, and regain control over their lives by breaking free from the cycle of OCD.
